• Answer

• Both the 83-85' and 86-88' style stock wheels had:
  • 3mm negative offset
  • 3 3/4" of rear backspacing
  • circle bolt pattern of 5 X 4 3/4 inches (5x120.7mm)

• The wheel stud threads are 12mm x 1.5mm
• The stock wheels require Acorn / Tapered seat style lug nuts. If you've changed to a non-stock wheel, be sure to use the correct seat lug nut for your specific wheel.

83-85

86-88

• While they would appear identical at first glance, the wheels are actually quite different. The details are noted below:

80-81 Z/28 wheel (N90 option)
-15x7 w/ 5x4.75" bolt circle
-Take a shanked nut/washers (or "shoulder" style shanked nut)
-Have 4.25" BS (therefore less of a "dish" compared to SS wheels)
-slightly different (flatter & wider) outer wheel lip than SS wheels
-"Z28" centercaps

86-88 SS wheel
-15x7 w/ 5x4.75" bolt circle
-Take regular acorn nut
-Have 3.75" BS
-slightly different (taller and narrower) outer wheel lip than Z/28 wheel

NOTES:
-centercaps will interchange between wheels
-there is also a very rare 14x7 version of this wheel that was optional on base model Camaro's in 80/81
-to use the Z28 wheels on a G-body, you will require wheel spacers. A 5/16" spacer will allow a stock 215/65R15 tire up front and a 245/60R15 out back.
