I've always considered the 4th generation Montes to be the best looking Montes ever. Your site is incredible. I just purchased my Monte in April '08. It is black with t-tops. Burgandy interior, 350 crate engine about 4 years ago. It was a U.S.A car until about 1992. Never winter driven, undercoated once and always garage kept. Up here on the east coast of Canada, cars are known to rust very badly due to use of salt on highways. But this car is in great shape, thanks to previous owners care. Just replaced headliner, installed GM performace aluminum valve covers and ceramic Hedman headers with flow masters and 2.5" piping. Also 3" s.s. tips. Thats it, great site.

My grandpa got in a head on collision. He got flown to Pitt County Hospital. He totaled the only car that he has. It was his pride and joy. Most everyone from Bridgeton knows my Grandpa. He was the gray headed man who drove the shiny black, 1986 Monte Carlo with T tops. He was the delivery person for Gina's Pizza. He used to work for the Gina's in James City. My grandpa does not have much money as he pays for 4 teenagers in his house. He is 65 years old and a wonderful husband to my grandma. A wonderful daddy to my aunts. And a wonderful grandfather to all his grandchildren. He does for EVERYONE and NEVER gets anything in return. He doesn't expect anything but that is not the point. He loves everyone but tends to get walked all over. As of today My grandma, and I, all my aunts and his grandchildren are starting a fund for our very kind, caring dad-granddad-husband. We are going to try and raise some money for my daddy to help him get another car. A car is what my daddy RELYS on to make a living and take care of everyone he loves. when i was 16 i realized i wanted a monte carlo. not a damn camara or firebird, and definately no damn mustang =P something rare and unique. and ... sick. i found the 87 aero stock with flows for $2500 when i was 19. im only 20 now, but ill have it for ever.

I have owned my 1987SS for 17 years. It has 50k "summer" miles and looks like new. It was stripped to bare metal and painted factory burgundy colour in base clear with new factory stripes. Other than 2" drop spindles, it is all original. It turns heads wherever it goes... even more so every year it gets older. It is amazing how many young people know exactly what it is and in some cases they were not even born when it was built... but simply love this generation of SS ! This site is a great resource for keeping it in top shape as well as having great links for parts.

Hey guys, ive always been a fan of monte's and ive just recently found an black 87 ss for 10,000. it has 29,000 miles on it. it seems to be in very good shape so im thinkin bout gettin it. First is the price a good deal? Next how long do these usually hold up? Next whats the average mpg i can expect to get. i keep pretty good care of my cars and do the routine stuff often.

went to new salavage yard found bucket seats out of late model chrysler cirrus fits almost perfect took an hour for both looks sharp good replacement for bench no cut on origonal seat studs so can b replaced 87 ss bench seat car
