Mike's been doing a lot of work on his SS this year. Here is the after shot. Mike's nick on the Message Board is "MonteSS". Mike has added an 600cfm Edelbrock carb, Edelbrock Performer intake manifold, Edelbrock / K&N open air filter, and a lot of chrome. As you can see from the after shot, the SS is now blue. "Steel Blue Pearlcoat" to be exact, which is extremely close to the 84 SS stock blue. Mike recently entered his SS at the 27th annual World of Wheels car show in Boston MA. He won third place in his catagory. Well done Mike. You'll notice that Mike added the 83-84 decals with a little custom striping of his own. He also added a piece of polished aluminum under the hood. Aaron bought this fine example of an 84 SS in October of 1999. It is completely stock except for 235's all the way around the tinted windows. He currently has a cd player installed but has the original radio and has a replacement faceplate still in the GM wrapper. The car is only driven in the summer months since he lives in Canada, and does not want to put it through the snow/salt.
The car has been a daily driver during the last 2 summers, and now has 97,000 original kilometers. He was hoping to paint the car this year but they bought a house, so next he will build a garage and then have the car painted. The car will probably only be driven for pleasure use only from here on in. He look forward to keeping this car for his whole life.

History: One owner, until in February of 2000, Robert was looking for an El Camino to play with, when a neighbor asked "how about a Monte SS? 70K orig miles, blue" as he inquired about the car, he realized that this was the car he admired for so many years! He spoke to the owner, and about 3 weeks later went with his wife to check it out! It was dusty (2 years, he hadn't run it) but other than that, looked great! He told him OK, and the seller said to give him some time to get it in good running order first. Two weeks went by, and the seller called. They drove out the whole 5 miles (it was in the next town) to pick it up! It was spotless, detailed, and ran perfect! He said the a/c was a little low on Freon, drove home, dropped off the other car, and went for a drive! Robert and Dawn have put 12K on it since, and a joy to drive every time!
